Everyone knows Marvel, but the film company is constantly growing, getting bigger. This year is no exception, as Marvel is said to be in talks with two filmmakers they would like to have on their team. It all started earlier this year with a single film that made these two famous in one fell swoop.
With “Bad Boys For Life,” which hit theaters earlier this year, filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah landed a huge hit that Marvel quickly showed interest in. The film had the approximately $90 million production costs back in the coffers within two weeks of its theatrical release!
But who are the two? Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are two young Belgians who now bring a breath of fresh air into the film industry and, since “Bad Boy For Life”, can hardly save themselves from inquiries. Not only has Marvel expressed interest, but the producer of the film has already offered them a next film. Disney+ is also in the race for the two. There was probably already a conversation with Marvel. However, as mentioned above, they also have a new feature film with Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of the third “Bad Boys” movie. This film is “Beverly Hills Cop 4”, just like “Bad Boys” a pretty big number!
“They [Marvel] said they liked our movie and were like, ‘[…] Let’s find something to work on together.’ So nothing specific is planned yet, it was just a meeting, but let’s see if we can find something cool. With Disney+, everything has evolved in such a way that there’s a lot you can do. You can make a movie or a TV series.”(http://www.filmstarts.de/nachrichten/18529359.html)
Now many doors are open to the two young men in the big film world. But until now, the two were completely focused on their film “Bad Boys For Life”, so they did not get to deal with all the new opportunities and perspectives. That will now probably come their way in the next few weeks! The Marvel project is far from set in stone, but a collaboration is very likely, as talks and a meeting have just taken place. No further details have been released on the other prospects in this regard, so we can most likely assume a collaboration with Marvel.
But one question is still open! The question of what material they will take on, whether series or feature film. The next weeks and months will show that!
Meanwhile, there are also new insights into Disney+ for Germany, which COULD also be of partial importance for the further development of the two Belgians! It has become known that the streaming platform will be launched on March 24, 2020. SHOULD the two decide for a cooperation with Disney+, be it with a series or a movie, the viewers can expect a result in 2021 at the earliest. With a Marvel cooperation, the result could be published much faster, and the audience would not have to wait forever.
Even if a decision by the two is still pending, because each of the offers has its advantages and will be worthwhile for the two, it is a fact that from now on no door will probably remain closed to them and they have made a name for themselves with their film!
