Fans have been waiting for this for years: Deadpool 3 finally reunites the Merc with a Mouth with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. This would allow them to forget once and for all the embarrassing X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where Reynolds was first seen as Deadpool.
The character of Wolverine was actually killed off years ago. Now he’s back in Deadpool 3. Superhero actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman share the news.
Ryan Reynolds big announcement on Twitter
Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman announced in a funny video that Wolverine will be in “Deadpool 3”.
In the video, Reynolds complains that he’s been working on a “Deadpool” sequel for a long time, but just didn’t have any good ideas. “But we had an idea,” Reynolds says to the camera as Jackman walks through the frame behind him. “Hey Hugh, do you want to play Wolverine again?” “Of course Ryan,” was the curt reply.
The video ends with a circular Deadpool logo scratched by Wolverine’s razor-sharp metal claws, hinting at a Sept. 6, 2024 theatrical release.

Jackman last showed his nails in the film “Logan” (2017). After several comic book adaptations, this will probably be the Australian’s last appearance as Wolverine.
As Marvel’s anti-hero in black and red, Reynolds has already succeeded in Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018). The Canadian first played the role in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a prequel to the X-Men trilogy starring Jackman as Wolverine.
Nothing was initially announced about the start of filming on “Deadpool 3.” Shawn Levy (“Night at the Museum,” “A Free Man”) is on board as director.
